Pu-erh tea is made from a larger leaf strain of Camellia sinensis called Dayeh, which are ancient trees with mature leaves (~500 and 1000 years old). The tea leaves go through a fermentation process after they have been dried and rolled; the leaves darken and flavor enhances. Pu-erh is known best for it's many potential health benefits. This tea tends to be higher in antioxidants and vitamin C, compared to other teas. Truly in a class of its own.
